
| Unsalted Butter - For Greasing | |
| 150g Ready made puff pastry dough | |
| Plain flour - for dusting | |
| 4 Cooking Apples | |
| 4 tbs Vanilla Sugar | |
| 150ml Double Cream | |
| 1-1.5 tsp Ground Cinnamon | |
| 1 Egg Yolk - Beaten with 1 tbs water |
| 1. | Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4. Grease an 1.5-litre ovenproof dish with butter. |
| 2. | Roll out the pastry to 3 mm thick on a lightly floured surface and cut into four large squares. |
| 3. | Peel and core the apples and place one in the middle of each square Sprinkle with the sugar and fill each cavity with a quarter of the cream and a pinch of cinnamon. Bring the corners of the squares up to the top of each apple and pinch together leaving a small opening to allow steam to escape. |
| 4. | Brush with the egg yolk mixture, place in the prepared dish and bake for 40 minutes |
